We had a good run, but I have decided to shut the server down.

Due to the map files being too large - they cannot be put up for download, I'm sorry.

It's been a pleasure playing with you, and thank you for your constant support.


And you are all welcome to join us on the BlazeCraft/SMCS game night, to play with the people you have been playing with in the past months.

This was originally posted in the Staff Forum, it is now here! I posted it earlier than I said I would.
Ideas would be appreciated - we're going to make a list of everything that people suggest and implement most of it.

Original post:

"We need more players, we're running extremely low in the active players section, and we NEED to get more. If we do change maps upon release of 1.3, we should wait until then. But when/if we do:

Ideas:

1. Adding/Removing plugins to make the server more appealing.
2. Possibly completely redesigning the type of spawn.
3. Picking out new and active staff members - hopefully across time zones.
4. Maybe adding new ranks depending on new players
5. Having a large store again to add to the jobs plugin.
6. 'Nerfing' the jobs plugin, or making prices high.
7. Maybe having multiple words to fit different play styles.
8. Other things I'm yet to think of.

Please post your ideas and opinions below, and especially 'recruitment' ideas.
This post will be in 'general discussion' by Friday. So get as many ideas as possible to be adding to it by then.

Well, I do agree that some new staff members would be nice, especially across time zones. As far as I know, there are no mods/admins or anybody like that in America, and Americans can go on later at night, what with us being 5 hours behind Europe. As for new world, I think no. I think that, what with us changing worlds so often, it has made our rep go down and made people not like us. We need to stick with one world. Depending on how the new update will overall affect the world, my opinion is subject to change. As for plugins, I can't think of any. The spawn is rather nice, but something that is interactive to the player would be cool, too (kinda like the tutorial tower). The jobs plugin I have no opinion about, as I am a builder and I get my money directly from people, not from the settings of the plugin. A large store would benefit the players nicely, however, don't put in cheap things like diamonds or obsidian. Players should still have to work hard, and we shouldn't just give them items for free. Also, if you guys want, I could create another recruitment video and post it on forums and YouTube. Other than that, I can't think of anything. These are just my opinions, though, so yeah.

I'd like to keep some of the things from this map. For example, Eimajtown. I know that eimaj has worked really hard on that town, and it would be a shame if it was 'destroyed'. If there is anyway to keep certain 'landmarks' then i'm all for a new map.

*Nerf or Remove Jobs

*Staff sell nothing, All unobtainable or rare useless objects (IE: Saddles, Cobwebs, ext) sold at ONE admin shop.

*TNT as currency, It encourages trading? :3 So like, TNT isn't placeable so why not have TNT as a currency, 10$ = 1 TNT. 100$ = 10 TNT and 1000$ = 100 TNT.

*Mobs ON and difficulty Normal. (When im in survival mobs seem to do the same damage as they do on easy)

*Original Spawn, we need to come up with some SUPER spawn with interaction to the player, I have some ideas like where the player has to do a Q&A to get to the bottom of the spawn where they could like, hit a block or something and it sets there spawn there? Or maby they're promoted to regular there or something where they can skip the Q&A by typing /spawn. Also as DPMS said this would give more interaction to the players.

*Playermade towns don't get a warp? Only like, important places get warps (IE, let's say like a games area) this way it increases the danger and the fun level. (At least for me) Instead of warping everywhere.

*(If we get more players) More staff, and also maby forum only staff? If we get around 30 players I was thinking 3-4 Mods, 2 Admins and maby 1 or 2 Admin+'s (Oh and owner and co-owner of course)

*Events! I used to do it alot but now i've stopped, we need more events like a Lottery or an ender dragon fight or even a PVP tournament!

*Respawning the enderdragon in the end or re-starting the end everytime the dragon is defeated, im sure there's a plugin for this on the bukkit forums.

*I kinda nicked this off forl's server but what about no one man towns? So like, no towns with just 1 man.

*Online mode = ON

*Pre-Made spawn, so no player joins to find an empty ass spawn

*Vet starter kit, like a kit of wooden tools, 10 pork and... 16 torches?

*Vet rank earned at a month/every new map. Vets are supposed to be somepeople the newcomers look up to. Plus vets ALSO should be already respected players. (IN my opinion)

*Builders need to help more, No offence you're builds are good but the only time Eima had helped was with the tutorial tower, but Satans friend whatever he was, Lanny. I want more people like him who help make the spawn. (No offence but after reading all the apps they all basicly say they want to build towns to "Help the server"

*Stop giving players the logblock tool, players seem to be getting a BIT cocky. Maby make it Veteran only.

*Towny, nuff said

*Dynamic map?

*Try to partner with more servers, (Partnering with blazercaft has gotten blazecraft more members along with us, PS: Nice server forl)

*I will add more when I think off.

Dynamic maps are... well how do I say, Its a map of the server that also shows where players are. It could help find towns and stuff but players DO have an option to turn people seeing them off, And some of the players (not naming) seem to be super cocky with logblock, Hard to explain. Razz
